The Poor that Help the Poor
It makes me so angry when companies throw away perfectly good items. Instead of giving their stuff away to the poor or homeless shelters they go and tear everything up so no one can have it. All they care about is making their stupid profit and if they don't get any benefit from it then no one else can either. Sure, people dumpster dive. I would too if I had nothing else or had no way of getting my necessities. Maybe it doesn't look good when you are walking into a store and you see people scrummaging through that stores dumpsters but I would be happy to see those people maybe getting a pillow or blanket for them to sleep on. Or some food for them to eat when they don't know where their next meal is going to come from. It's selfish of the company. The motto "if we can't have it then no one else can either" is one of the worst I've ever heard. Fine don't give it away to homeless people off the streets. But how about putting it in clearance for a couple weeks and mark the price way down and try to make a few bucks. That way people struggling with finances are still able to afford a couple things and the store is making money. My mind just can't grasp what it would be like to work at a store like that and have to shred or destroy everything before we threw it away. The walmart on Kansas has homeless people stand outside of it everyday of the week no matter what time you go. They stand at the intersection of I-44 and Kansas begging for people to help them. I'm sure it would make their day if Walmart asked them to come to the back of their store to see if they needed anything before they were about to throw everything away. These people don't need much and it's not like they would take the most expensive items known to man. They need necessities. Food and clothes, deoderant and toothpaste. They won't be taking beds and tv's. They will only take what they need to survive.
